Safe in the saddle

Training courses for novice cyclists aimed at encouraging more people to take to the saddle could become a regular feature this summer. The success of a trial at Elthorne Park High School, Hanwell, last week could lead to more courses in future.
Cllr Wicks, chairman of Ealing's transport advisory committee, joined parents, teachers and children to learn about safe cycling. Cllr Wicks said: "It's really important that we should look after ourselves and the environment by walking or cycling. The journey to leisure activities is itself part of keeping fit."
