Simeon helps kids get wheely confident

Young people are being given the chance to take part in more than 100 activities and courses free of charge in a project called Embark Summer Challenge.

People ages between 10 and 18 in Hammersmith and Fulham can take part in classes including journalism led by the BBC, drama workshops and sport. Joel Hunter, 11, was a participant in the borough’s bicycle maintenance course where youngsters learned how to turn their bikes into fine-tuned high-performance machines.

Youngsters without bikes had the chance to restore and keep bicycles donated by the Metropolitan Police. The course also incorporated safety and road skills lessons.
