Cycling campaign focuses on adults
 
Merton residents will get the chance to swap their cars for their bikes as free cycle training is offered throughout the borough.
The project, which will run next spring,aims to motivate adults to start cycling as a means of transport, by providing training in safe, effective road cycling.

Merton Cycling Campaign's Co-ordinator Richard Evans said: "Our survey work shows many adults would like to return to cyling but lack the confidence - that is what our training project sets out to provide.
Half of all journeys are under two miles long, and many of them could be made by bike.
A switch to cycling for short journeys could really help to cut congestion on our roads.
For short journeys a bike is often the quickest way of getting about.
Furthermore, regular cycling is a great way of keeping fit as part of a daily routine.
